The National Academy of Education (NAEd) has announced Assistant Professor of Economics and Education Alex Eble and two 911吃瓜 College alumni among the 2019 winners of its prestigious , which provide funding and professional development to early-career education researchers.

Eble and TC alumna Gabrielle Oliveira (Ph.D. 鈥�15, M.A., Anthropology and Education)鈥攚ho was also a lecturer at TC in 2014-2015鈥攔eceived postdoctoral fellowships; while Aldo Anzures Tapia (M.A.鈥�14, International Educational Development), Katherine Soojin Cho (M.A. 鈥�16, Sociology & Education) and current doctoral candidate Qiao (Anna) Wen were awarded dissertation fellowships.

The NAEd/Spencer Fellowships support scholars whose projects address critical issues in the history, theory, or practice of formal or informal education, at the national and international levels. Postdoctoral Fellows will receive $70,000 to focus on their research and attend professional development retreats. This year, the 30 postdoctoral fellows were selected from a pool of 221 applicants.

The 35 NAEd/Spencer Dissertation Fellows 鈥� selected from a pool of roughly 420 applicants 鈥� will receive $27,500 for a period of up to two years to complete their dissertations, and also attend professional development retreats.
