Research Discipline/Bio

Edith is a Ph.D. Candidate in English Education. Her doctoral research proposes a posthuman theoretical framework to expand our understanding of mentorship and to recognize the profound influence of more-than-human influences that shape educator identities and development. She is National Board Certified, a recipient of prestigious Fulbright and Pulitzer Center fellowships, and embodies 16 years of public high school and college teaching in Connecticut, Hawai���i, and New York City. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is an adjunct professor, a student teacher supervisor, and deeply involved in graduate student leadership as AERA GSC Chair, AATC GSC Co-Founder and Executive Council Member, and NCTE ELATE GSC Chair. Edith fosters supportive living environments as a Community Assistant and advocates for gender equity as Feminist Circle's co-founder and co-president. Outside of academia, when her nose is not in a book, Edith loves exploring NYC with her two daughters.
