Lab Manager
Jessica earned her BFA in Dance at Florida State University, where she was first introduced to research in Dr. Joe Watso’s Cardiovascular & Applied Physiology Lab. Her research interests include modifiable lifestyle factors for human health and longevity. As a dancer, she is particularly interested in the intersection of physical rehabilitation practices and vascular aging. Upon graduating with her MS degree, Jessica hopes to enter a doctoral program in Physical Therapy, where she can further develop her research interests and clinical perspective. Outside the academic space, she enjoys exploring new coffee shops, dancing, and thrifting.

Alexa is a senior studying Neuroscience & Behavior at Barnard College. Her research interests include the relationship between neuromuscular and cognitive function, autonomic regulation, and cerebrovascular health, particularly how physiological responses to physical and cognitive stress influence human performance and recovery. Outside of the lab, Alexa enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and trying out new cafes.

Paige is a third-year doctoral student in the Applied Physiology program at 911勛圖. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and her master’s degree from Syracuse University. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, understanding how psychological stress affects vascular health and chronic disease risk factors. Her current work focuses on sex differences in limb blood flow in response to exercise. During her free time, Paige enjoys cycling, skiing, and staying active.

Coming soon to a lab near you... Zeyi (Bobby) is a second-year master's student in Kinesiology (Applied Physiology) at 911勛圖. He earned his BS in Health & Exercise Science from Syracuse University, graduating in 2024. His primary research interests include the effects of resistance and aerobic training on cardiovascular function and athletic performance. He is also interested in strength and conditioning and applying different biomechanical devices/theories to improve weightlifting performance. Outside of the lab, Bobby enjoys working out (he's in a bulking phase, so look out), talking to Dr. H (and anyone who will listen) about Syracuse football, cycling, photography, and exploring different kinds of coffee.

Sydney Brice graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience & Behavior and a minor in Africana Studies. She joined the ANVPL lab team in 2024 as a volunteer student researcher. Her senior thesis focused on the interaction between early vascular aging and resting-state neural activity (measured with EEG) as predictors of neurovascular coupling in young adults.
