International Programs

Since 2006, Dr. Cate Crowley has led international trips for CSD master鈥檚 students. Generally the group goes to Ghana in January and Latin America in May/June. During these trips, students provide supervised speech-language therapy services for patients/students in hospitals,schools, and private clinics. In addition, the group collaborates with local colleagues in professional development retreats, with a focus in AAC, literacy, and cleft palate.

TC CSD students also have opportunities to work with Dr. Crowley in her international cleft palate work with a number of organizations, including Smile Train, Transforming Faces, Operation Smile, and Healing the Children. TC CSD master鈥檚 students have joined Dr. Crowley in her cleft palate work in Guatemala City, Guatemala; Kumasi, Ghana; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Salvador, Brazil; Neiva, Colombia; Quito, Ecuador; and Chennai, India.
